This velvety Chocolate Citrus Slushies recipe is one of my favorite feel-good treats. It’s cool, refreshing, and packed with flavors from caramel sauce and orange candy slices. Plus, it’s so easy to make—it takes just 15 minutes from start to finish!

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 pint chocolate sorbet
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/4 cup orange juice concentrate
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons jarred caramel sauce
  • 4 orange candy slices (for garnish)

How To Make Chocolate Citrus Slushies

  1. Combine Ingredients in Blender: In a blender, add the sorbet, almond milk, orange juice concentrate, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend on high speed for about 1 minute until smooth.
  2. Prepare Glasses: Drizzle a little caramel sauce into the bottom of 4 glasses. Pour the slushy mixture evenly into each glass. Cut a small slit in each orange candy slice and slide one onto the rim of each glass. Serve immediately with a spoon and enjoy!

Recipe Tips

  • Chocolate Quality: Use high-quality dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa for the best flavor. Avoid milk chocolate for a more intense taste.
  • Citrus Selection: Combine oranges, grapefruits, and blood oranges for a balanced mix of sweetness and tanginess.
  • Blending Technique: Add a small amount of water during blending to achieve a smooth, even texture without over-thinning.
  • Sweetness Adjustment: Taste the mixture before freezing and add a drizzle of honey if more sweetness is desired.
  • Freezing Time: Freeze until the slushie is set but still scoopable, about 2-3 hours, for the perfect slushy consistency.

Caramel sauce adds a sweet, creamy contrast to the citrus and chocolate flavors, enhancing both taste and visual appeal.
